The CLHF Annual Convention is now a well-established and highly valued autumn opportunity for the local history enthusiasts of Cumbria to get together. The day combines our short Annual General Meeting with exhibitions of projects by member groups, and includes a themed conference focusing on aspects of Cumbrian local history.
Our next Annual Convention, hosted by the Askam & Ireleth Local History Group and the History of Kirkby Group, will be held at the Askam Band Hall in Askam-in-Furness on Saturday 14th October 2017, from 9.30am – 5pm.
It will be a day long programme of historical and archaeological talks about aspects of Furness history and will be a wonderful chance to meet with others fascinated by our local history, exchange ideas and view the latest work by our local history groups. Askam is easily accessible by both car and rail so do come and find out more about this attractive corner of the county!
